Current NIL Partnership

Student-Athlete Image & Likeness (SAIL)

VCU Athletics has enlisted SAIL (Student-Athlete Image & Likeness) to provide comprehensive Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) education to its student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators. SAIL will provide in-person seminars, its proprietary SAIL Playbook, and ongoing consultation to help prepare, educate, and guide VCU Athletics throughout the new world of collegiate NIL. SAIL will also help all VCU student-athletes understand, protect, and maximize their personal brand value.

“Having a well-respected partner working on these unchartered areas will pay significant benefits for our student-athletes, their families and our department. We will learn a lot together over the next few months as we navigate the first few years of this new landscape.” – Ed McLaughlin, Vice President and Director of Athletics

SAIL is the premier provider of NCAA NIL education. SAIL was created by two prominent sports marketing agencies, Team Services & Maroon PR, to assist intercollegiate athletic departments throughout the dynamic NIL landscape.

The Atlantic 10 has inked a multi-year partnership with industry-leading content and compliance software company INFLCR. The agreement will provide VCU, as well as all A-10 institutions, with the resources and technology necessary to support their student-athletes' opportunities related to name, image and likeness (NIL). The three-tier platform will provide educational resources, brand-building techniques and a disclosure technology platform required in many states.
"Supporting the needs of the membership is the role of a conference office. During this initial time, with the uncertainty of information and outcomes related to the ability of a student-athlete to use and monetize their NIL, this partnership will assist A-10 administrators supporting student-athletes as they navigate new opportunities," stated Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. "INFLCR has an impressive suite of services that will eliminate uncertainties on campus and potentially jump start student-athlete and A-10 brand building."
Through the INFLCR Verified platform, VCU student-athletes will be provided with technology that will enhance their experience through personal story telling. INFLCR Verified will also equip A-10 student-athletes with a wide range of educational and financial resources to help optimize and monetize their personal brand through their name, image and likeness.
The INFLCR Verified platform also provides A-10 athletic departments with robust compliance tools to assist in the management and monitoring of student-athlete NIL activities, allowing for a fully compliant path to external commercial opportunities for student-athletes. INFLCR had previously worked with select member institutions of the Atlantic 10. The new agreement will provide all 14 member schools & student-athletes with NIL education, tools and technology.
"With a great deal of NIL regulatory responsibility falling onto the institution in this initial phase of the NIL era, it is wise for a conference to have a strategy like the Atlantic 10 has chosen to take in its partnership with INFLCR," said Jim Cavale INFLCR Founder and CEO. "Together, we will empower student-athletes, staff and other representatives of A-10 institutions with the technology to establish, communicate and track all NIL regulations while also empowering student-athletes with brand-building technology, education around NIL, and of course, all the tools they need to build a successful NIL business. With this partnership, we are building the NIL system of record for the A-10, and we could not be more excited about this."
